This Friday, November 8th, Dr. Genaro Marín, who is one of Hispanic Alliance's founding board members and a mentor to many in our network, will be honored by Greenville Forward as one of three "Heroes Next Door". This award is meant to celebrate those unselfish volunteers in our community, who by their extraordinary efforts and giving heart are transforming the lives of many and making Greenville a caring community.
We encourage Genaro's supporters to join this celebration. If you would like to sit at Hispanic Alliance's table, please e-mail us. The event is from 8:00 to 9:00am at Zen downtown.
Genaro has been a true hero for many Hispanic families. His deep love for people allows him to see opportunity where others see hopelessness and scarcity. Genaro has planted seeds of hope that have blossomed over time through his constant care for those who are often forgotten. Genaro leads by example and works tirelessly to build a strong foundation for others to stand on. He truly takes pride in attributing credit for his own work to others.
Some of Genaro's community work includes the establishment of two outreach programs for families, Café Cultura at the Center for Community Services in Simpsonville and a Latino Ministry at Russell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Berea. He's also a devoted volunteer with the Red Cross Hispanic Outreach program and the Hispanic Alliance.
Thank you, Genaro for all you do for our community!
